Indian Sub-Continent passing through Revolutionary Time

Indian Sub-Continent passing through Revolutionary Time

Capt. K. K. Singh

Pakistan Its election result on 12 May 13 has raised a hope for democracy's birth in our neighbour. This successful election, despite Taliban's threat and violence, where 65% people voted, is a land mark. Ouster of corrupt and spineless American line tower Zardari, is clear indication of Pakistan people's desperation to free itself from past. They want freedom from economic and political slavery and do not want to continue supporting their leaders in name of religion and anti-India sentiments.

There have been other historical events which strengthens Pakistan's secular and socialist forces like Malala and rise of third party like that of Imaran Khan. Do you remember Pakistan court's verdict a week back where it declared American attack in its territory illegal and asking its government to retaliate!!

Bangladesh I had posted my views and comments on Bangladesh. Latest isShahbagh revolution which is uniting secular and democratic forces. They also have united workers specially cotton mill workers after collapse of factory where more than 1100 people died and forced government not to make any new blasphemous law despite extremist's demand and protest. Punishment to 1971 criminals and rapists, though late but positive, has the role in building new Bangladesh.

Nepal India did err in dealing with Maoist Government but Nepal is moving forward from a Hindu state to a secular and socialist country. Those Indian settlers who were against such changes due fear of reprisal by Nepalese working class are reconciling as they do not find any such action and a section are for new government.

Myanmar Once again I will quote my article on this country. Surprise is that today US and ASEAN are closer to this country rather us. Problems of Buddhists' versus Muslim Settlers continue but secular forces are strong here.

India after Karnataka election result and sacking of Law and Railway Ministers, the mood of Indian voters are clear. They want new India, secular, corruption free. We have alternate in Aam Aadami Party which promises to bring Jan Lokpal Bill and relief to suffering Indian population.

Asia part of world turmoil is witnessing a revolutionary era as effect of massive recession of 2008 which is continuing till date and signs of recovery is like mirage! Our own Industrial output in last quarter shows less than 3% despite all propaganda by Man Mohan Singh and Montek Singh Ahluwalia and unemployment rate has gone up.

Still after all such signs of revolutionary moment and people's massive discontent we Asians lack revolutionary parties in our respective countries. Yet hope of reforms and higher mass consciousness cannot be rules out.
