According to decision of AIYF national council on 23 Feb. AIYF Delhi State organized a protest procession against the price hike and the anti youth Economic Policies of UPA-2 Government. Activist of AIYF Delhi gathered at Jantar Mantar at 12.00 and from Jantar Mantar they marched towards the Parliament Street, where they burned the effigy of anti People Economic Policies of UPA-2 Government. Activist of AIYF shouted the slogans against price hike and UPA Govt,s economic policies. AIYF Delhi State also inaugurated a Banner Signature Campaign against the price hike.
AIYF procession ultimately converted into a small public meeting. Mahesh Rathi, National Secretary AIYF addressed the public meeting, he blamed in his speech that economic policies of the Govt. are the real and main reason for the price hike. He also criticized the Globalization concept of development. He claimed that the govt. is claiming the high growth rate of GDP but the youths of the Nation are losing there jobs frequently. Instead the issue of price hike AIYF also raised five more demands.
1. Enact National Urban Employment Guarantee Act.
2. Remove Ban on New Recruitment in Govt. and PSU,s
3. Creation of National Youth Fund for Employment Generation.
4. Provision of Unemployment Allowance
5. Ban on the appointment of retired persons in Govt. Services.
The procession also addressed by Yogender Verma, President Delhi AIYF, Sanjeev Rana, Mohd. Ikram, Ameeque Jamaei, Kalimuddin and Anand Sharma.
