Subject: Alcohal & Mahatma Gandhi: Rename & Scrap
To: legalman.jalan@rediffmail.com
Tuesday, 13.04.2010,13.40 Hrs.
To,
Shri Ashok Chavan, the Hon'ble Chief Minister of State of Maharashtra.
Regarding: Please RENAME Roads & Streets lying in the name of Mahatma Gandhi; and also SCRAP State Holiday on 2nd Oct. Gandhi Jayanti.
Namaste Sir,
You hold a high respect in public eye among other political figures.
Whereas the Govt of Maharashtra is keen to the idea of promoting Alcohal / Liquor consumption among people of Maharashtra, thru its policy of making liquor from foodgrains, there is no point in following symbolic path of Mahatma Gandhi or paying Mahatma Gandhi a tribute on Gandhi Jayanti and therefore, may I suggest, all Roads & Streets in the name of Mahatma Gandhi should be suitably RENAMED and also State Holiday in the name of Gandhi Jayanti should be SCRAPPED.
I am certain you will give reasonable thought to this idea.
Thanking you,
Sandeep Jalan (Advocate)
