FILMS IN THE CITY - HORROR SPECIAL TUESDAY 6TH APRIL 2010 - DELOITTE AUDITORIUM Our ever popular Films In The City networking and short film screening event is coming soon. The next event will take place on Tuesday 6th April at the Deloitte Auditorium in Central London. And, due to popular demand, this event will be a horror special! We've teamed up with our friends at the Abertoir Film Festival to bring you this special event. There'll still be the chance to network with 100+ people but we'll also be screening a selection of the best shorts that Abertoir have screened. And we'll have a special panel discussion with two feature film directors and horror experts about the horror industry in general. This is a vital part of the UK film industry and we're delighted to be able to bring you this special event. Entry is a £5 donation to the Haiti Emergency Fund. The final line up for the event is still being confirmed but we can let you know that one of the shorts being screened is our very own "Captive", the short film made by Non-Multiplex Cinema and YOU! This is a chance to see this award winning short in London as it continues it's festival run. | |
WIMBLEDON SHORT FILM FESTIVAL - SUBMISSIONS OPEN In July 2010, Wimbledon's alternative film club, the WFC, hosts the third Wimbledon Shorts Film Festival. They've got great people from across the film industry organising and judging the event and submissions are now open for everyone from experienced directors to first time filmmakers. Submission forms and information can be found here Entries will be judged by a panel of independent film experts: Elizabeth Karlsen: Producer, Number 9 Films Sam Lavender: Development Editor, Film4 Andrew Pulver: Film Editor, The Guardian Juliet McKoen: director and screenplay writer Manu Luksch: artist and filmmaker Dominic Buttimore: director, Th1ng Animation Nick Brimble, actor Tony Hawkes: comedian, writer and screenwriter Derek Malcolm: Film critic They accept submissions on DVD only and they should be no longer than 15 minutes long. An event for established people who work in film, tv, advertising and digital. You can pick up freebies, win prizes.
