Dear all:
I am surprised that many of the friends in this groups are wanting to eradicate untouchability, however I have no clue how is it going to be eradicated with the support of Hindu structures and systems, which itself is the basis on which untouchability is standing. Babasaheb Ambedkar strongly recommended us to leave Hindu fold and that was the reason why he himself adopted Buddhism as the most viable alternative. However all our friends and community members seems to be looking forward to have this eradication by strengthening Hindu structures and system. This temple entry comes to be with a great amount of surprise and I hope that people from our background would learn at least from such incidences that Hinduism is not meant for us.

Dalits meet Collector for reopening of temple
Tirupur: The Dalits from Vellakoil block met Collector C. Samayamoorthy on Tuesday seeking his intervention to reopen the Uthamapalayam New Mariamman Temple immediately and allow the Dalits to offer prayers in it.
The appeal was following the order issued by the Dharapuram Revenue Divisional Officer, M. Ali Akbar, who is also the sub-divisional magistrate, a few days ago restraining the public belonging to all castes from worshipping at the temple until further orders.
The RDO issued the order under Section 145 of Cr PC (criminal procedure code) following allegations of caste suppression raised by the Dalits in the locality recently and the subsequent tension between them and the caste Hindus, official sources here said.
Uthamapalayam New Mariamman Temple Agitation Committee convener S. Karuppaiah told The Hindu that the temple entry agitation planned by the Dalits against the caste suppression on November 17 had been postponed since the temple remained closed.

Creation of a casteless and peaceful society is indeed the first step towards just, egalitarian, and harmonious society. A society of equals, neither unequal nor more-equals, beyond the strings of caste, class, gender, race, ethnicity, etc. Otherwise it leads to social oppression, political exploitation, economic deprivation, cultural domination, gender discrimination, class isolation, deliberate exclusion. Lets' believe in a society beyond this.
