Open Letter to the President of India on being Missed by the Census Team
To, the President of India,
Rashtrapati Bhavan,
New Delhi .
Respected Madam!
I am a Professional Journalist and social activist based in Kolkata. I have a rental home in Sodepur and the Landlady lives in the same premises. The Census team visited the land lady and enrolled her family upstairs. But downstairs they missed our home. The Residential address as follows,'
Palash Biswas, Journalist
C/o Mrs arti Roy, Arti Bhavan,
Gostokana,
Ward No 16
Panihati Municipality
Sodepur,
Kolkata- 700110
Phone: 033-25659551

The day on which the Census team visited our ward, it was very Hot and may be they missed our home on seeing the Door closed. I visited the officer In charge in the Municipality and he noted my Name and address and assured that the team would visit my place once again.
You should be understanding our position as being a Professional Journalist as well as a social activist, I have to visit places outstation so often.I , my Wife Sabita and my son Excalibur are BORN Indian Citizens. I am a Professional journalist for Thirty Years. I passed my M.A. from DSB College Nainital. My wife Sabita passed her M.A. From Burdawan College, Bijnore, U.P.
We have all essential Documents as Voter I card, Ration Card, Residential Proof, PAN card and so on. I May show it to the census team.
As being the victim of the Mistake, I am concerned about the Fate of the people who incidentally remain absent at the time or the team misses their residence, what would be their fate as the Biometric Census this year is a part of Unique Identity Number project and National Citizenship register enrolment.
The Census team is not visited us as yet. We are very Concerned. My son is a Young Man still Unemployed. Please consider the situation.
I humbly suggest that there should be some provision as it used to be in the case of voters` enlistment so that who have been Missed by Census Team, could claim their credential filing a Form prescribed and the team may verify it.For livelihood, vacation and travel, a large number of people may miss the Train. As the Citizens of India, we should be given ample opportunity to register us.
I hope that the local Municipality and Census team would visit my Place some time.
But the Risk is there! As you know that Bengal is Politically Tense and Vertically Divided. Deliberate missing and Omitting may not be ruled out. in that case, there should be a remedy to rectify the Error.
