FIVE-DAY BHARAT NIRMAN PUBLIC INFORMATION CAMPAIGN AT BHAGABNPUR-I CONCLUDES
Bajkul: Sunday, March 14, 2010.

The five-day Bharat Nirman Public information Campaign at Bhagabanpur
of Purba Medinipur district concluded today. In the concluding
function prizes were given away to the successful participants in
various contests and competitions held on different days. Shri Santanu
Palodhi, Addl. Director General, Press Information Bureau, Smt.
Archana Hait and Shri Gostho Behari Das, Karmadhashas, Bhagabanpur-I
Panchayat Samity, Shri Milan Pradhan, social worker, and Shri Sudipta
Biswas, Field Publicity Officer, DFP gave away the prizes. Sixty
participants including school children and SHG members took prizes for
being successful in eight contests. Earlier speaking on the occasion
Shri Palodhi on behalf of the Information and Broadcasting Ministry
conveyed thanks to the local people for their wholehearted
participation in the Public Information Campaign (PIC). He
particularly appreciated the SHG members for their enthusiasm and
active participation. Through them important messages on different
development and welfare schemes introduced by the Centre for the rural
people will be conveyed to others and thus would ensure their
participation also in the development process and socio-economic
transformation of the country, he said. Shri Gostha Behari Das said
that a programme like Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign would
definitely play a significant role in ushering in development in the
rural areas. On the final day DFP organized an inter-school quiz
contest in which 33 students belonging to 11 teams took part in. A tug
of war event was also organized for the members of the Self Help
Groups.
