Martyrs' memorial at Kalinganagar. The TATA Company does not respect the martyrs.

Martyrs' memorial at Kalinganagar. The TATA

Company does not respect the martyrs.

Do the TATA Company respect the Martyres? On 2nd January, 2006 the police fired on the Adivasis, who were protesting against forcefully land acquisition by the TATA STEEL Ltd. 19 Adivasis lost their lives but the TATA, Administration and Police of Keojhar threatened the leaders of people's movement. They were booked in the (false) cases including murder and allegation of being the Maoists. The villagers were victimized by the police. Finally, the TATA acquired 3200 acres of plain agricultural land of the Adivasis and building its steel plant. The so-called development is taking place on the blood of the Adivasis. Shame on TATA and Indian Government! We have been saying that we'll surrender our life but not land. In Kalinganagar, the TATA and the Government took 19 lives and also 3200 acres of land. Where are the Constitutional provisions, PESA Act and Human Rights of the Adivasis? Nation building on the blood of Adivasis. "Let it not be said by future generations that the Indian Republic has been built on the destruction of the green earth and the innocent tribals who have been living there for centuries" - K.R. Narayanan on 26 January, 2001. — KALINGANAGAR POLICE FIRING (8 photos)
