The leader of Lebanese party Hezbollah has said the resistance group can hit any target inside Israel and added that he believed they were entering an "era" in which Israel would cease to exist.

Speaking during an event in Beirut's Dahiyeh suburbs celebrating the reconstruction of the district, which was largely destroyed by Israel's aerial bombardment in 2006, Hassan Nasrallah also condemned the ongoing violence in Syria, accusing the United States and Israel of orchestrating the situation.

"Today, we are capable of not only striking Tel Aviv as an area, but also capable of striking specific targets in Tel Aviv and any place in occupied Palestine," he said.

Recalling the cost of reconstructing of thousands of war-destroyed buildings and houses in Dahiyeh, Nasrallah said: "The hand that has rebuilt is on the trigger in order to impose a real equation: for every building destroyed in the southern suburbs, several buildings will be destroyed in Tel Aviv."

"The era has come when we survive while they [Israelis] will be doomed to vanish," he added.

Referring to Syria, Nasrallah said those trying to bring down President Assad's regime were led by foreign forces.

Hezbollah has continued to support Assad's government, which it has a long alliance with.

"Who wants the destruction of Syria? America and Israel and some Arab countries," said Nasrallah. "They want to destroy Syria because it is the main ally of the resistance in Lebanon and Palestine."

The Syrian people are at a crossroads," Nasrallah said, adding that one path leads to "reform," and the other to "destruction."
