Virginia Tech says shots fired on campus, 2 killed 08 Dec 2011 Officials at Virginia Tech University, the site of the worst mass shooting [false flag] in modern U.S. history, say a police officer and another person have been shot and killed on the school's campus and the suspect remains on the loose. A news release from the school says the police officer pulled someone over in what was a routine traffic stop Thursday. The officer was shot and killed during the traffic stop. We need 'protest' -- and a whole lot more.] 08 Dec 2011 The operator of Japan's crippled Fukushima nuclear power plant is considering dumping water it treated for radiation contamination into the ocean as early as March, the firm said on Thursday, prompting protests from fishing groups. Tokyo Electric Power, (Tepco) the utility operating Fukushima's Daiichi plant, said it was running out of space to store some of the water it treated at the plant, due to an inflow of groundwater.
 
AP: Inside Romania's secret CIA prison 08 Dec 2011 One of the CIA's most important secrets in the war on of terrorism was hiding in plain sight, on a leafy residential street along a busy set of train tracks in Romania's capital. There, tucked in the basement of a government building, the CIA ran a clandestine prison, former U.S. intelligence officials said. For years, the building -- codenamed Bright Light -- housed some of the CIA's most important terror suspects, including Khalid Sheik Mohammad, the mastermind of 9/11. Even after the detainees prisoners were shipped to Guantanamo Bay in 2006 and reports about the prison began to surface, the Romanian government repeatedly denied any knowledge of its existence. A joint investigation by The Associated Press and German public television, ARD Panorama, however, located the former prison and unearthed details of the facility where harsh interrogation tactics were torture was carried out.
 
Mystery Smell Aboard a Plane Makes 5 Flight Attendants Ill: Cops 07 Dec 2011 Five flight attendants on a plane at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport were transported to a hospital to get checked out after complaining of feeling ill from a mystery smell, authorities said. The Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue's Hazardous Materials Team boarded the plane and took readings, but they came back negative. No passengers were on the plane at the time.
 
Senate Republicans Block Obama Pick to Lead Consumer Panel 08 Dec 2011 The Senate blocked President Obama's nominee to head the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, as filibustering Republicans who oppose the very powers of the new agency successfully challenged one of the administration's main responses to the [GOP-created] financial crisis. The nomination of Richard Cordray was rejected after Democrats failed to achieve the 60 votes they needed to move his nomination forward. The vote was 53 yes, 45 no.
