                                              PRESS STATEMENT

( Regarding Protest Dharna on 19th anniversary of the demolition of  Babri Masjid )

Lucknow: December,6,2011 – All India  Muslim Forum today observed the 19thanniversary of the demolition of Babri Masjid as 'BLACK DAY' and staged a Protest Dharna at Jhule Lal Park, Lucknow .The Protest was  presided over by the U.P. President of Muslim Forum Dr. Aftab Ahmed and the proceedings were conducted by the Lucknow Distt. President Mr. Raees Ahmed Siddiqui.

Addressing the protesters, the Chairman of Muslim Forum, Dr. M.K.Sherwani stressed that  the date of December, 6 will always be remembered in the history of the country as the ' BLACK DAY' because  it was on this date in 1992 that the Constitutionally established secular ethos  was torn into pieces by the fascist forces. The demolition of Babri Masjid, Dr. Sherwani asserted, was not directed only against Muslims, but against the vast multitudes of Indians who believe in secularism and  the multi-cultural legacy of the nation.

Others who expressed their views on this occasion included  Dr. Aftab Ahmed, Mr. Raees Ahmed Siddiqui, Shamshad Hussain alias Bhayyu, Akbar Ali, Chand Babu, Syed Naseem, Zubair Ahmed Khan, Mujtaba Kamal Sherwani, Dr. Shakeel Siddiqui, Rehmat Ali Ansari, Qari Hasnain and Hafiz Saleem Ansari.
