The Bhopal Gas tragedy of 1984 was the worst industrial catastrophethe world has ever known.

Dow Chemical is the company that has failed to provide compensation for the 1984 Bhopal Gas tragedy that killed 10,000 in Madya Pradesh. But international opposition to their sponsorship of the London Olympics has exploded -- and last week thousands of Indians joined the call for Olympics organisers to cancel their partnership. 

Now there's a chance to increase the pressure even more. 

Arjuna award-winner Jalaluddin Rizvi has just started an urgent petition on Change.org, calling on the Indian Olympic Association to boycott the Olympics while Dow Chemical is still a sponsor. National and international pressure is growing as lakhs of people join a huge outcry -- join with Jalaluddin now and force the Indian Olympic Association to increase the pressure.

The Bhopal Gas tragedy of 1984 was the worst industrial catastrophe the world has ever known. It claimed the lives of more than 10,000 people, and over 1,00,000 people who were exposed to the gas are still suffering today from terrible disabilities, cancer and birth defects.

Since Dow Chemical took over Union Carbide -- the company that created the disaster -- it has been legally responsible for compensating victims. But despite the government demanding it pay the thousands of people still suffering from the results, Dow Chem ical refuses to spend a single rupee in compensation. 

The Indian Olympics Association is already under pressure. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has called for a boycott, and even British politicians have expressed outrage. If lakhs of us join Jalaluddin's call, the huge outcry will convince them to do the right thing. All over the country, people are stunned that Dow Chemical could refuse to compensate victims of the tragedy, but still be an Olympics sponsor. Jalaluddin says he doesn't want the Indian team to "march and compete under Dow Chemical's logo, even as the company thumbs its nose at Indian courts" and makes millions from its Olympics deal.
