Sawant Report – Anna Top Scoundrel – An Eye Opener
As per the following Justice Sawant Report Anna Hazare operated six trusts from 1985 or earlier solicited donations but Swindled money from accounts, didn't keep accounts, though he claimed donations for providing Free Education but charged hefty fees from students and for hostel use.
Para 124 are damning and there are 25 paras of conclusions of Gross Irregularities by justice Sawant in last 5-6 pages.
XXII) Some of the workers in the andolan were abusing the platform of the andolan for anti social activities such as extortion of money, blackmailing, grabbing the properties of others, harassment, goondaism, corruption etc. Although Shri Hazare denied some of them were his workers, he could not deny that others atleast were his own workers. These acts on their part were clearly criminal.
In the near absence of records for 30 years it is difficult to prove all economic frauds. Large scale admissions of procedural Wrong Doings alone are mind blowing.
In Para 22, 23, 24, 27, 28, 29, 30, 32, 38 Trust didn't submit accounts for 1982-94 and 1995-2002 and periods. Big contracts were awarded without Tenders.
