Court notice to Delhi school on student's plea  Sun Jul 10 2011 19:04:47 GMT+0530 (India Standard Time) by IANS ( Leave a comment ) New Delhi, July 10 (IANS) The Delhi High Court has issued notice to the Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalaya (RPVV) and the Delhi government on a petition by a school student who was not promoted to Class 11 despite clearing his class 10 exam with 72 percent marks.  Justice Kailash Gambhir earlier this week asked the respomdents to reply by July 13.  The court was hearing the petition of Vinod Thapa, who was denied admission to the commerce stream for 2011-12 in RPVV, Lajpat Nagar in south Delhi.  Thapa's counsel Ashok Agarwal said that since the student passed his Class 10 examination from the school, he was entitled to be promoted to the next class.

The court was hearing the petition of Vinod Thapa, who was denied admission to the commerce stream for 2011-12 in RPVV, Lajpat Nagar in south Delhi.

Thapa's counsel Ashok Agarwal said that since the student passed his Class 10 examination from the school, he was entitled to be promoted to the next class.

"But he, along with 16 other students, were denied such promotion and told to leave the Vidyalaya and go to some other government school," the petition said.
