Army, Home Minister rule Kashmir: Geelani

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, Apr 26: The Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Tuesday reiterated to continue his campaign against Dogra Certificate order till its complete revocation.

"We will not accept any amendment in the Dogra Certificate order and will continue to oppose it till it is completely rescinded," Geelani said while addressing public gatherings at Achabal, Sopore, Rafiabad and Al-Safa Colony in north Kashmir today.

Geelani claimed that there was "virtually rule of Union Home Minister and Army" in Jammu Kashmir. "Omar Abdullah's meeting with Army officers at Badamibagh cantonment to discuss law and order issue indicates that everything is done in the state with Army's consent. So we cannot say there is democratic rule in the state," he said.

Addressing a public meeting at Achabal, Rafiabad, Geelani strongly condemned the mysterious killing of Hafiz Muhammad Ashraf Lone, killed by unidentified gunmen at Kreeri in north Kashmir on Sunday. "There is virtually army rule in Kashmir and no civilian's life, honour and property is safe," he said.

Geelani said Kashmir was the "only place in the world with the highest military concentration" where civilians are killed with unidentified hands., "Lakhs of people have been killed in Jammu and Kashmir till date, over 10000 persons subjected to enforced disappearance, 2700 people are buried in nameless graves discovered so far," he said, appealing to the International Community in general and the responsible functionaries of the United Nations Organization and War Crime Tribunal  in particular to come forward to investigate all the mysterious killings in Jammu Kashmir to put an immediate halt to the further killings.
