Omar's Assembly speech scripted in Delhi: Geelani

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, Oct 11: The Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G), Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Monday came down heavily on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah accusing him of making the speech on accession in the Assembly on the instance of New Delhi to hoodwink Kashmiris and restore credibility of his party.
In a statement, Geelani said, "Keeping with its traditions, the National Conference has been exploiting sentiments of Kashmiris to remain in power. Political observers believe that the defence of Omar Abdullah's statement in the Assembly by the Congress signifies that it was prepared on the instance of New Delhi to hoodwink Kashmiris once again."
Elaborating, Geelani said, "When the Mahaz-i-Rai Shumari (Plebiscite Front) was buried under the 1975 accord, it was also projected as a vision."
Geelani said the unrest in the Valley in past four months has created panic in the power corridors from Srinagar to New Delhi. "So the pro-India parties staged a drama whose directors were in New Delhi and Omar Abdullah was its main character. New Delhi has rendered support to the National Conference as it can't find its replacement at this juncture to facilitate execution of its anti-Kashmir policies for crushing the movement," he said.
Addressing the pro-India Kashmiri leaders, Geelani said, "They should bear in mind that New Delhi can't be their friend. It is only using them to keep Kashmir under occupation by its military might. I want to tell those who are executing New Delhi's anti-Kashmir policies that this is 2010, not 1975. It is not easy to hoodwink Kashmiris now."
