Hi,

Please find our second July newsletter below.

If like me, you've been to the Cannes Film Festival and people wonder why you are meeting up with filmmakers from the UK there and not in London then I often respond "You try meeting up with the right people in London, can be difficult." Our new event FILM MEANS BUSINESS will help by bringing together producers, filmmakers, financiers, broadcasters, sales agents and distributors under one roof in the City of London with a panel of industry speakers in September. You can now book online at a limited promotional discount offer of over 50% here.

We also have the next Films in the City screening and networking event in August. The last event brought down over 120 filmmakers and the whole place was buzzing with all the networking going on. We are screening some great short films, many are award winning, and bringing back the Best Short Film on the Night Award; winner chosen by the audience. See below for details.

Plus of course there are other film related news in this newsletter.

All the best,
Julian and the Non-Multiplex Cinema team

FAMILY FRIENDLY FILM FESTIVAL - COMING SOON
Now in it's fifth year, the Family Friendly Film Festival is taking place from 30 July - 15 August at venues across Manchester. The films being screened will not be playing at the local multiplex, and will not be available from the video shop. So it's a unique opportunity for families to engage with different cultures and learn more about the lives of others, as well as being entertained by storytelling every bit as mesmerising as any Hollywood movie. Admission is free for most of the films, and none cost more than £3. The films will be screened at some of Greater Manchester's most interesting cultural venues, and many will feature accompanying activities. All the details can be found here
