Thanks for alerting me about a meeting I had no idea about! Rajendra Yadav did call a few weeks ago and ask whether I could come to a Hans event in July. I was travelling at the time and said I'd speak to him later. And now you tell me that without my ever having agreed, it's being billed as a debate between me and the notorious policeman Mr Vishwaranjan! I had no idea about all this. I have no intention of being there. Not after my recent experience with PTI and the rubbish that is being put out by the Chhattisgarh police and headlined in the Indian Express. You say a bunch of youngsters are putting together a petition asking me not to go...please tell them that I don't need a petition to persuade me! I never agreed to go in the first place. And now it's beginning to look like a set up . You can circulate this to anyone who is worried that I might walk into this trap. (translate it if it will help?) I think there are better ways of having debates in which co-opted media people controlled by the police cannot misquote you.

Haiti, Six Months After the Earthquake
July 12 marked the six-month anniversary of the devastating earthquake here in Haiti that killed as many as 300,000 people and left much of the country in ruins. Up to 1.8 million people are living in squalid tent cities, with inadequate sanitation, if any, no electricity and little security, or any respite from the intense heat and the worsening rains.

"When everybody comes and has a solution for Haiti it only creates a problem," Sister Mary says. "A lot of people are coming from the United States, but they are doing the work the Haitian people should be doing. I would say, 'send the money you paid for your ticket to supplement a family so that the members could do the work that you were going to do when you were here.'"

शुक्रिया अरुंधति। आपने हमारे विश्वास को कायम रखा है। मैं पहले ही कह चुका हूं कि विश्वरंजन को सुनने कि लिए मैं हंस के समारोह में नहीं जाऊंगा। जनज्वार को भी बधाई, कि उन्होंने इस मुद्दे को उठाया।
उम्मीद है कि राजेंद्र यादव नरेंद्र मोदी या तोगड़िया को बुलाकर अरुंधति के न आने की भरपाई कर लेंगे। वे केपीएस गिल को भी बुला सकते हैं या अरवल कांड के जिम्मेदार अफसर सी आर कासवान को भी। रामपुर तिराहा कांड का आदेश देने वाले अफसर भी विकल्प हो सकते हैं।

अरुंधती का फैसला सही है. अगर विश्वरंजन हंस के कार्यक्रम में आता है तो उस कार्यक्रम स्थल पर जाकर धरना प्रदर्शन भी करना होगा. हंस महज राजेन्द्र जी तक सीमित नहीं है. यह हमारे विचारों और भावनाओं से भी जुडी रही है. यह विश्वरंजन को भी पता चलना चाहिए कि अकेले आदमी तो उस तरफ से उस तरफ हो सकता है. मगर जनता का क्या कीजिएगा ? विश्वरंजन खेल को आसान समझ रहा है तो उसे बता देना होगा खेल इतना आसान भी नहीं है.
