A NEW CLOAK ROOM AND A CRECHE INAUGURATED AT HOWRAH STATION

Kolkata: Wednesday, June 23, 2010.

 

Shri Ambica Banerjee, Hon'ble Member of Parliament, inaugurated a New Cloak Room at Howrah Station New Complex and also a Creche at Bamangachi Railway Colony on today  at Howrah Station New Complex. Md. Jamshed, Divisional Railway Manager, Eastern Railway, Howrah was also present on the occasion.

 

Cloak Room at Howrah Station New Complex

A new Cloak Room has been constructed at the concourse of Platform No.22 & 23, adjacent to the Ticket Booking Counter at the New Complex of Howrah Station to serve the passengers coming from Southern & Western parts of India. This round-the-clock facility is being provided in place of the existing cloak room in the New Complex of Howrah Station, which will be closed down. Since the capacity of keeping luggage is being enhanced, it will help to cater to the larger number of passengers.

 

Creche at Bamangachi Railway Colony

As per announcement of  Minister for Railways, in the Railway Budget Speech for 2010-11, one Crèche has been opened at Bamangachi Railway colony for the wards of 952 female railway employees posted in Liluah, Tikiapara, Bamangachi and Howrah. Children below the age of six (6) years can be kept here.
