TOTALLY ILLEGAL AND UNJUST DEMAND - UNAIDED SCHOOL FORCING PARENTS TO PAY 6 CRORES FOR UPGRADING SCHOOL BUILDING – St. Joseph Academy, Savita Vihar, Delhi-110093 has issued a circular dated 20.04.2010 demanding Rs.20,000/- per child (Rs.20,000/- x 3000 students = Rs. 6 crores) from the parents in the academic year 2011-12 for upgrading the school building. Law is well settled that no charges can be levied in the school fees towards the capital expenditure incurred on the properties of the society that runs the school. The said demand of the school is besides arbitrarily hiking fees in this year by 33%.
