civil liberties activists- Deblina Chakraborty (Matangini mohila somity), parthasarathi roy (sanhati,professor in Kalyani university), Abhijnan Sarkar (Towards a new dawn magazine, research scholar in JU), Samik Chakraborty (activist of Mazdoor kranti Parishad), Devjani Ghosh (student activist, studying m.phil women studies JU), Manas Chatterjee (CPI(ml)liberation) have been sentenced with 3 days police custody under non-bailable sections FOR TAKING PART IN NONADANGA SLUM ANTI-EVICTION MOVEMENT. they have been framed with false charges such as causing destruction of govt. property and restraining the govt. officials from doing their duties. Today police also accused them for keeping arms storage in nonadanga slum ... whereas not a voice of rehabilitation has been announced for the slum-dwellers.
