The WPI for the week ended 5th June, 2010 in respect of 'Primary Articles' and 'Fuel. Power, Light & Lubricants' is given below:

 

PRIMARY ARTICLES (Weight 22.02%)

The index for this major group declined by 0.7 percent to 299.5 (Provisional) from 301.7 (Provisional) for the previous week.

 

The annual rate of inflation, calculated on point to point basis, stood at 16.86 percent (Provisional) for the week ended 05/06/2010 (over 06/06/2009) as compared to 17.21 percent (Provisional) for the previous week (ended 29/05/2010) and 5.91 percent during the corresponding week (ended 06/06/2009) of the previous year.

 

The groups and items for which the index showed variations during the week are as follows:-

 

The index for 'Food Articles' group declined by 1.1 percent to 293.2 (Provisional) from 296.4 (Provisional) for the previous week due to lower prices of fruits & vegetables (6%) and tea (2%).  However, the prices of urad (6%) and maize, bajra and gram (1% each) moved up.

 

The index for 'Non-Food Articles' group rose by 0.04 percent to 285.8 (Provisional) from 285.7 (Provisional) for the previous week due to higher prices of raw jute (2%) and raw cotton (1%).  However, the prices of raw silk (5%), sunflower (4%) and raw rubber (1%) declined.

 

FUEL, POWER, LIGHT & LUBRICANTS (Weight 14.23%)

The index for this major group declined by 0.6 percent to 370.2 (Provisional) from 372.5  (Provisional) for the previous week due to lower prices of aviation turbine fuel (8%), naphtha (5%), furnace oil (3%), bitumen (2%) and light diesel oil (1%).

 

The annual rate of inflation, calculated on point to point basis, stood at 13.18 percent (Provisional) for the week ended 05/06/2010 (over 06/06/2009) as compared to 14.23 percent (Provisional) for the previous week (ended 29/05/2010) and -12.59 percent during the corresponding  week (ended 06/06/2009)  of the previous year.

Residential Units for Weaker Sections in Haryana

New Delhi: June 17, 2010

 

 

Two projects under Basic Services to the Urban Poor (BSUP) for Faridabad city for Rs. 64.23 crore and 18 projects under Integrated Housing & Slum Development Programme (IHSDP) for Rs. 272.26 crore have been approved so far in the state of Haryana for construction/upgradation of 3248 and 16426 houses respectively.  The project-wise and year-wise details are given at Annexure.

As on 31 March, 2010, 1622 dwelling units under BSUP and 3787 dwelling units under IHSDP have been reported as completed.
